presentation skills 01 largeThis Presentation Skills workshop enables senior executives who often serve as the face or voice of the organisation to communicate clearly, simply and concisely. The focus is specific to nonverbal communications – body movement, eye contact, gestures and voice. In other words, everything but your words. Participants are filmed at the beginning of the workshop giving a typical presentation, and given feedback and a personalised action plan to be able to apply their learnings immediately.

A similar workshop – Creating Impact – brings nonverbal communications and message development together in one workshop.

Suggested Participants

Anyone who wants to deliver more confident, credible and persuasive presentations. Participants can be 1) anyone new to giving presentations, 2) those who give presentations but recognise areas for improvement, or 3) seasoned presenters who want to refresh their understanding of the fundamentals.

Learning Outcomes and Specific Points of Emphasis

Both theoretical and practical, this workshop aims to improve presentation outcomes based on physical and vocal skills that send the proper nonverbal messages to the audience, through:

  • Using body technique appropriately to interact with the audience
  • Engaging through fluid eye contact
  • Capturing the audience’s attention through an animated and natural voice
  • Underscoring key points through precise gestures
  • Handling Q&A with the audience
  • Deal with the unexpected surprise
  • Manage rehearsal time – as well as nervousness, anxiety and fear
  • Enhance the presenter’s sense of personal fulfillment

Workshop Variations

A shorter workshop can be accommodated without the filming portion in the agenda. Or, the filming in front of colleagues can remain, but the feedback portion of the agenda can be private and confidential.

Workshop Details

With filming, the maximum number of participants is 12.  The minimum is 6. Workbooks are provided as part of the training. For filming, participants need to submit their presentation in advance of the workshop so I can review and provide specific comments to their deck.
