I’m thrilled to announce the Australian Institute of Management (AIM) has asked me to facilitate open workshops on Design Thinking scheduled for the following dates:
- 23 August (Wed) in Sydney
- 30 August (Wed) in Brisbane
- 18 October (Wed) in Melbourne
In a way, it feels like I’ve come full circle to Design Thinking. My training and client work as a graphic designer at university served me well in jobs as VP of marketing communications at MasterCard International and worldwide creative director at Burson-Marsteller, then later working with my own clients during the past 15 years throughout Australia, Asia and the Middle East. Now, as a trainer of business courses at AIM, I’m using my 30+ years of experience in marketing, brainstorming, change management, innovation and continuous improvement to deliver AIM’s first workshops in this exciting area.
This one-day workshop will be a balanced and jargon-free introduction in the morning to the basic design sensibilities that anyone can use, and a practical case study in the afternoon where participants will put the key lessons to use in a brainstorming session, including the development of product prototypes. Throughout the day, we’ll demonstrate the basics behind the theory to make the complexity of Design Thinking simple to understand and practical to apply, no matter your personal objectives or your company background. And, because the workshop is open to all, you’ll be able to share and learn about experiences in other companies and industries. Or, for those who want a bespoke workshop, you can either talk to me or to a Senior Training Advisor (1300 658 337) to develop a customised offering to fit your needs.
AIM is generously offering a 10% discount for those booking online by 31 August for all open workshops running by 30 September.
These Design Thinking workshops are part of my current roster of other workshops I conduct at AIM.
Thanks as always for reading and following. I look forward to seeing you in a future workshop!
